CHITOSAN

A considerable amount of studies have been published focusing on the chemical, physical and biological properties of Chitosan and its applications in various fields such as environmental, water clarification, agriculture, paper, textile, animal feed, health and food nutrition, cosmetics, medicine, etc.

Chitosan is a cationic biopolymer showing different properties according to its molecular weight and its degree of deacetylation.

Because of its reactive amino group, it is possible to produce derivatives from Chitosan such as Carboxymethylchitin or Hydroxypropylchitin and many other such derivatives that lead to new families of products.
