D – MANNOSE
PRODUCT DATA
D-Mannose is a naturally occurring simple
sugar closely related to glucose, which has applications in
Urinary Tract Infections.
Urinary Tract Infections are
caused by build up of E. Coli in the bladder and kidneys.
The E. Coli bacteria stick to the inside walls of
bladders and urinary tracts and are not rinsed out by urination.
Typically, antibiotics are
prescribed for Urinary Tract Infections.
Although antibiotics kill “unfriendly” bacteria, they
also kill “friendly” bacteria allowing antibiotic insensitive
yeast to grow causing yeast infections.
D-Mannose does not kill bacteria,
“friendly” or “unfriendly”.
Instead, D-Mannose helps to move the E. Coli out of the
urinary tract.
D-Mannose passes through the
kidneys into the urine and coats the E. Coli bacteria so that it
can no longer stick to the inside walls of the bladder and
urinary tract and is then rinsed away with normal urination.
