Ahwagandha, Withania somnifera, is a prominent Ayurvedic
medicinal plant belonging to the Solanaceae family, found primarily in
India.
Ashwagandha is considered an adaptogen, an herb with multiple, nonspecific
actions that counteract the effects of stress and promote general wellness.
Ashwagandha has traditionally been used against tumors, inflammation,
arthritis, stress, fatigue and infectious diseases, helping to restore mental,
spiritual and physical vitality and adaptability.
The active constituents of Ashwagandha are Alkaloids (calming effect),
Withanolides (anti-tumor effect) and Sitoindosides (anti-stress activity).
Recommended dosage is 300 500 mg Ashwagandha Extract, two times per
day.
